Hey Aces how did F.I.T. standardization work out for you? Are you breaking in those new Archers the right way already :D
They were broken in (25hrs)prior to us instructing in them. As for standardization, it went by without a hitch. Cadet flight, did some maneuvers, Archer flight did some approaches holds etc on the G1000. Been instructing for a good month now and enjoying and learning everyday. |
As everyone else has said, FIT Aviation is a great place to instruct. I was there from 2008-2010 as an instructor and had a great time. Good luck to anyone going there now.

How is the work there? are you working a lot of hours? how much students do they start you off with? do you get tested every day in Standardization class? how long is it?

Standz is an online study course which is to prepare you for everything you need to know technical wise. Should not take more than about 10 hours overall, then after completion of the online course you have a one week class at the flight line. 3 days of indoc and 2 days of written, sim and flight tests covering a instrument sim evaluation, and 2 flights (2nd flight if you have a cfii). Free lunch all week and its paid. Don't worry about little work. If you don't do about 65-70 hours every two weeks your trying your best not be there. This is not flight time necessarily. This is between flight sim and ground. Last 2 weeks I did 93 hours with a good bit of effort. Great place to work and by far the most professional flight school I've ever seen (maybe I'm biased :D ) |
Thanks for the response. 65 -70 hours every two weeks is a lot better than i'm doing right now. is this online course done at home before the standz class?
Do you know how much they pay for the standz class? and what the housing in the area is like? cheap or expensive? I saw a job posting on their website saying they are hiring CFI's at the moment. |
They seem to be accepting applications but don't seem to be following up on them. At least from what I can tell.

Anyone have a gouge on what their indoc day quiz is all about? Any study tips or topics? I've heard there is a quiz and just want to make sure I'm studied up for it.
