ATP-R and "1000 hour" exception?
#21
My guess is that it will take at LEAST a couple of months. Remember how there was speculation that the final rule was going to be released august of last year? Government never is in a rush... I imagine it will be a while till they figure out this big mess.

you'll probably have to get the reduced atp on your own and then they ll hire you. At least until all the confusion is resolved.

ATP-R and "1000 hour" exception?
That's kind of the feeling I got from it. I have a few friends banking on the ATP-R exception. But by the time all the fine print it sorted out and the regionals perhaps start hiring ATP-R's I think all my friends will be well past 1500 tt.

I don't know if that's true- I got a job offer from a regional and I only have 1100. I know I won't get to 1500 by the end of the year at my job, since flying will drop off for the winter. All the airlines I talked to have been willing to at least interview me with the hopes that the FAA will have a quick turnaround.
