The cessna is a workhorse... plain and simple. It can take a beating and still perform perfectly. I did all my single training in the cessna and loved it... My .02 cents.

The 172 definitely has the edge on comfort.

Well Pre-first lesson (last week) I sat in both again and still felt the Piper was more comfortable to sit in (with the exception of the trim wheel), I guess everyone is different as most people on here prefer the Cessna.

either way....I had a blast

on a slightly different subject...

I know most people advise not to take out loans/finance etc to pay for zero to hero courses, but what about taking money from a 401k loan to get through the PPL/IFR? I was thinking that this might be a good way to quickly get it done and get onto commercial, ME, CFI etc, while allowing me to actually get in the air!

Don't touch your 401k. They will penalize the ungodly hell out of that money you have.

I've been told not to touch the 401K. The loss of the growth (compounding interest) of that money over time is the killer.

How may trainer aircraft have air conditioning? In a decade and a half I've flown in maybe one...maybe.

IMO The Cessnas are dicey when doing stalls and slow flight which is good for training. The pipers stalls are more gentle. I would go with cessna but if piper has a good deal go with that.
