Default Sunrise Aviation at KSNA

Anyone have any input on this flight school? As I am looking at UC Irvine or Chapman to transfer too, i am looking for airports near by to flight instruct at, once i get my CFI.

How are the hours, students, hourly wage for instructors? etc.

I don't have a lot of current intel, but that school used to specialize in Tailwheel and Acro Training I believe.

Dont have any intel either, however i know that Ron Rapp, the author and maintainer of The House of Rapp | "Living the High Life" blog has obtained his ratings and later instructed there (not sure about now). You could drop him a line on there (think- network, and perhaps he'll provide you with some info on how that place operates. My .02

They do a lot of tailwheel and acro stuff. I got my spin endorsement there and everything is ok, but it is not the nicest flight school on the field. They have a fleet of 8 or so super decathlon/citabria, an extra, plus some sport stars (most primary training in these) and Cessnas. I got some training at the place next door which was nicer, but not as down to earth.

I assume the place I am training at pays more for flight instructors because my instructor left his job at sunrise for that job - but in my opinion there are more interesting flights at sunrise.

Also beware KSNA, you must drive onto the field to get to the airplanes, and to drive on the field you must be badged by the airport authority after getting a TSA background check (done through the airport authority). It takes at least a week for the background check, right now they said to expect at least 2.
