I clearly support making a point about single massively long paragraph. It makes it hard to read.

People who expect to communicate well with others and actually be convincing, really ought to follow the conventions everyone else uses.

ATC really doesn’t think much of the pilot that says,”Hey tower. I’m in a blue Cessna and want to get on a runway and fly away.” While it might be an entirely truthful statement it lacks efficiency and professionalism, a couple of things we all ought to value.

I going to say no, because it is fast-paced, everyone is in a race for the airlines and I question the quality of training. You want to be more than a button pusher, you want to be a pilot with skill.

I am on here because I want to be good, I want to learn the ins and outs of the industry and not just be a body in a seat. With that said, I am having a very hard time finding a school that is even willing to be up front about rates let alone their aircraft and instructor availability. The selling point to a place like ATP is the accelerated accumulation of hours, which to me seems like a fantastic selling point all on its own. I do not want to pay $80k to get my ATP completed, but when it will add up to a million dollars in lost wages if I take an extra two years getting my certs the regular way then I feel it may be worth it.

Do we have any recent graduates of ATP whom have done the CFI time with them and made the leap up to regionals or freight in the last two years and can speak to things being just as rushed and lacking in quality control as they were? Have things improved over time with refinement of their craft?

I am about to embark on starting my private in Illinois, are there recommendations here for what schools currently have the best instruction at the best rates here in the West Chicago area?

I was trying to go the club route but have burnt up six months thus far and am still on the wait list at my club of choice and am starting to think I would be better suited paying more to get certified sooner.

There is a place called Sling Pilot Academy in So Cal. About $20k less than ATP for same program. Worth a look.
