Default Central Flying Service?

What do people think of Central Flying Service out of Little Rock? After I get my private I'm looking at going to them to finish up everything else. I want to know the good the bad and the ugly of this place if at all possible.

Thanks,

I did some flight training at Central back in the summer of '05.

Most of the instructors and employees were friendly and helpful. My instructor always went out of his way to help me, but like any flight school, I'm sure there are some who don't know what they're talking about and would try to milk you along. But, you're not obligated to keep an instructor that you're not happy with. They do have a 141 program though, which can add some structure to your training.

They had an in-house examiner who seemed fair, but tough at the same time. I talked to him a couple of times, but never took a check-ride from him.

At the time, they had a pretty strange mix of airplanes. They are an authorized Diamond dealer though, so they were always trying to get new Diamonds. I'm not sure if they have completely new planes now or not, but I would guess that alot of them are the same as when I was there.
This is what their fleet was like when I trained there:
-Private training was done in a few nice, fairly new Diamond Katanas.
-They had 2 old, POS 172's for instrument training. They could make the flying pretty interesting. I haven't flown a plane as nasty as those, but I'm down here in Florida now, where you either have to charge dirt cheap prices for planes like that or get nice ones.
-2 172 RG's for commercial training. (Theirs were not any different than the others that I've flown...broken down all the time - good thing they have 2!)
-2 Duchesses for multi training (But there were serious talks of getting a Diamond Twin Star, which they would definitely have by now if the deal didn't fall through.)
-a G1000 Diamond Star that you could fly if you really hate the 172's and have some extra money.

The prices seemed a little higher than they should have been, probably because they didn't have much competition from other flying schools. There were some people driving an hour each way to fly there.

I hope this helps. Some of the stuff I said could be completely different by now though, because it has been 1.5 years since I was in there. There really aren't too many flight schools around the Little Rock area though, so Central might be your best bet. How much effort you put into your flight training has as much to do with the quality as anything though, so work hard!

Good luck

You could also try Henderson State University. It's an hour south on I 30, in Arkadelphia. They have Maules, 172RGs, and a Dutchess I think. PM if you need more info.

I'm looking at going through these guys in January and was wondering if there is any recent experiences out there. I was particularly going to be doing the AS Pilot Option degree via Pulaski Technical (they partnered up with CFS). Any experiences with the VA program doing this or CFS would be appreciated.
