All,
I have looked extensively through this forum and have enjoyed all the stories, especially with the plethora of pro's and con's to the professional pilot career field. My question is... is anybody familiar with any excellent professional pilot areas in the Tampa, FL region (Clearwater, 100 mile radius?). I have already started talking with Aerosim north of Orlando. But, my fiance has potential job opportunities closer to Tampa and I'd like to get her close to that region.
I've done a search for Tampa, but only a thread from 2009 and hoping for updated info. Thoughts?

Check out Cams Aviation at KPIE, I rent from them and they seem to be well run. The do some 141 with asians mostly. The CFI' s I have had contact with doing BFR's and currency rides have been top notch. They stay on top of the a/c, have on line scheduling, etc..

St Pete Air at Albert Whitted is where I got my ppl awhile back. Great G1000 172s with A/C (requirment in florida summers!) and good instructors on the whole. Great training field too with airport resteraunt 16 ish hour atc tower and lots of short hops to other airports close by. To this day its my favorite GA airport and FBO. Everyone was always pretty nice.

I work with an independent instructor in clearwater. He is awesome and charges 150$ for dual per hour. He is airforce vetran, airforce instructor, united instructor. Lot of fun to learn from him
