Default CFI and School

Hey guys, im in the middle of getting my ppl and i am just starting to think about the future. I am only 19 and in my second semester of college. I am just looking for advice from anyone who has gone through school while instructing full time.
I know that seniority plays a major role in getting hired on at an airline. In my position do you recommend that i spend the time getting my CFI asap and then going to school after i am hired or finishing school before instructing. Any information would help me out.

Thanks

Seniority itself doesn't play any role at this point in your life, worry about that when you are with the airlines. Another option, if you had the money - would be to use the summer to fly and earn your ratings. If you flew and studied like every day you could get a lot of stuff done. You could even start in the spring with flying.

I go to school full time and instruct during the summers. Depending where you work, FBO's get the most busy during the summer months and could use summer only CFIs. I get about 300 dual given a summer and teach ground schools as well.

As far as being an instructor while going to school, don't recommend it because you will not be available for your students when they need you and probably wont do as well in school.

I have a similar sceanrio...

I am currently not working, already have my degree, and have some dough saved up for training. I am planning on spending all of my current time geting my ratings and become a CFI. Once I get my CFI rating I plan to flight instruct in addition to hold a 30 hr/week second (high paying) job. I figure I could instruct on the weekends and on some weekday mornings/afternoons. I would plan to continue this until I reach 1000 hours TT and enough saved up cash so I won't be biting it so bad once I become a F.O. at a regional.

Would this scenario work?

Thanks for the adive mista, i will definetly take it into cosideration. You make a very good point.

As for engineer, in my opinion that idea would work, i just think it might take you a while to build up to 1000tt instructing only on weekends. But if you have the time and patience, thats the way to go.

As for me, i want to get hired asap, so i think i might focus on training full time to become a CFI asap.

Good luck to both of you, remember good pilots don't claim to be flawless, they admit their mistakes and learn from them.

I am not so much concerned for the long wait it would take to get to 1000 TT. I am mostly concerned of 1) losing the the flying skill if I instructed only on weekends (probally unlikely) and 2) being in as little debt as possible once I get to 1000 hrs and start making regional pay.

One other thing... Do regionals care about recency of the multi time? If I get it now but only instruct single prop for 18 months afterwards do I have to pay for more multi time to meet "recency" requirements?
