I was asked to give a presentation on Controlled Flight into Terrain, anyone have any suggestions to make this a meaningful presentation and beneficial for those who attend?

Get transcripts from the Flying Tigers incident in Kuala Lumpur or the AA one in South America. It is an easily avoidable occurance if cross checks and obeying warnings are followed. The egpws makes things even safer nowdays.

Give an overview of

Route/Terrain analysis in flight planning
Aircraft performance with respect to terrain
EGPWS
CRM considerations

Case studies such as

Flying Tigers
American (in South America)
Hundreds of small airplane accidents in Alaska

There was an incident just a few years ago where the FAA flew a Challenger(?) into the side of a mountain. I've seen it used as a few case studies because of the series of events that led up to it happening.

Yeah, I'd use that one too...no point in letting the feds live it down.

I don't know if I can post it due to copyright issues. But the Jun 98 issue of IFR refresher has a good article, PM me if you want a copy of that; I also have the transcript of the AA Cali crash.
