Student help

I'm almost done with high school one more year left 17yrs old, 12th grade 3.8 and 4.4 weighted gpa and I've wanted to become an airline pilot since Phhh and the more research the more lost I get. Ok here comes the real question since I dropped Erau choice. Would you recommend flight school and Univ/college at the same time, or just go to a a university with a flight and program and earn a bachelors in Aeronautical science with financial aid and scholarships? I live in Florida and this one United airlines pilot told me that a good flight school is PTC and its around 39k for PPL, instrument, commercial and multi, and there is a university 18 min away from it (FIU). The only bad thing is that they don't provide the CFI. CfI-I. CMEI certificates. Any answers suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Become a Lawyer or Software Engineer.

Then buy your own plane.

Must have been a United pilot who didn't lose his pension.

Not really into that idea but I might look into a degree somewhere in that technology field. Thank you sir.

Yeah, to the OP, I also recommend an MBA if you aren't into the other two I listed above.

He meant that you should go back and ask your United Pilot to sponsor your flight training as it will be a write-off for him (or her).

An MBA is an absolutely worthless degree unless you get it at a place like Harvard.

I would do your ratings piecemeal for the cheap while you are doing a regular 4 year degree in something unrelated to aviation. Then once you graduate, after enjoying your time as a regular college student, you can go right into instructing. The key is as cheap as possible. Nobody cares if you went to Big Franks CFI school in Pahokee Florida, or Embry Riddle. Enjoy your college life, get your ratings in the summer or on the weekends, then you'll have a CFI job waiting for you with a four year degree in your back pocket and all sorts of fun college memories.
