A friend just skyped me with the news that he was hired by Hong Kong Express. He showed up in VHHH for their open interview. He's an FO on a CV580 with a couple thousand hours. There is no pay for training, as is so popular these day's, but there is of course a bond. He was hired for the NG, but they also run ERJ's. Base and domicile is Hong Kong.
As there is a bit of interest in the area from time to time, I thought this might be of interest. I shall include a link to the job site below, as well as the contact details for Jade Cargo, a B744 freight op out of China. The latter has improved their conditions, but the buzz is that they are still not yet up to par. But par for some is not for others.

Thanks for the post, KoruPilot.
Has anyone else tried the online application link? I was directed to Heli Express, no application. Haven't made a thorough search yet...
Also, anyone have info about pay, schedules, etc?

That's funny as another mate of mine had a problem with the online app. My friend who was hired there did not apply online at all, he just showed up in HKG. He tells me that starting pay, after tax, is about $6k US, plus a housing allowance of a little more than $1000.
Upgrade, he was told, is about a year and a half. They expect six more NG's this year and are fasing out the ERJ's. Pay and housing allowance go up substantially with the upgrade. They are looking at long haul, want 777's, but as you likely know can't get 'em; nobody without current orders/options on the books can get a quick 777 deal at the moment. But all that could just be talk of course.
I'll post more as he get's it too me. His GS is at the beginning of July, in HKG, then down to Aussie for the sim.

Hey Koru, just to stop by and tell you even since HKExpress was purchesed by I believe the Hainan Group, they have become a 737NG only operator. Thoes ERJ's are now a part of Kenya Airways fleet as they were GECAS leased. I do not mean to correct you at all as you are a idol for me and a lot of the other posters; but I didn't want to see any mis information put on the page either.

Ahhh, I stand corrected. I thought, as I said above, that they were just in the process. I was wondering how they would be able to hire DE FO's onto the NG's without ticking off current ERJ guy's; it all makes sense now.
Thanks for the correction and update. Please, anytime I am incorrect I, and everyone else appreciate being put straight. All the best.
