The 100-300 hours FO on type thing might, in addition to license validation, serve an additional purpose of reducing the load on TREs and TRIs, which are hard to come by for Indian and Chinese companies (esp. Chinese due to age limits).

If I remember my regs correctly, you generally have to be with a TRI until you have 100 hrs in that airframe in that duty position. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

It might also have something to do with insurance or leasing company reqs?
