Hiring Question

Does Cathay Pacific inform you of your domicile during traning? What would the chances of getting Atlanta be? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that in order to get ATL, you have to be hired as a DEFO. Do you have a lot of PIC jet time? Otherwise it's Hong Kong if you're hired as a DESO until you upgrade to FO before you can bid for a U.S. base. Could be wrong on that though... I've proven to be a little inaccurate.

I have an interview coming up for DESO next month in New York. They instructed me to review up on the technical aspects of the ATPL theory for an interview that comprises of a 30 minute multiple choice technical questionnaire and a one hour interview comprising both personal and technical questions. Does anyone know if they prefer the Part 121 or Part 135 section of the ATP written? Or does it not matter which one i study for? Personally i'd study the Part 135 since i fly it. Would appreciate any heads up on this and the DESO interview in general. Thanks!

It's a good start to study the ATPw that we do for the FAA. But, it won't be enough for the CX interview. Personally, I think the FAA ATPw is a joke. The JAA ATP is more like what they have in mind when they tell you to study for ATPL theory. If I were you, I'd also study Handling the Big Jets, Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators, Ace the Technical Pilot Interview, and know as much as you can about the company and HK. Get a hold of "The Gouge". PPRUNE also has good info. Good luck.

Thanks for the info! Just one question, what's PPRUNE?

pprune.org - Professional Pilot Rumour Network

Do a search under Fragrant Harbour.
