Default Why No OA service to ORD?

Dunno if this has been answered before but why is there no Olympic service between ATH - ORD ?
With the Greek population in ORD you figure that there would be.

Where to begin? The simple answer is .. SAME REASON THEY STOPPED AUSTRALIA.

It's a SAD SAD story that has been eating "US" Greeks all over the world for years now.

Olympic has gone from the BEST AIRLINE in the world when under Aristotle and Alexander Onassis to one of the WORST (regarding services and passenger opinion) when it was given to the Greek Government after Aristotle gave it up due to the death of his son in a General Aviation plane crash.

At the moment I am over at AEGEAN AIRLINES, due to the fact Olympic is a dying airline that is run by a bunch of Government idiots.

Olympic has become another Alitalia, where a Government owned airline keeps taking money from the airline, putting people to work for POLITICAL GAIN and and and ....

Latest news is that the airline will become PANTHEON AIRWAYS, move all employees they need, this means cutting jobs by at least 60%, after this the airline will take back the name of OLYMPIC and start fresh.

Olympic thank god is still one of the safest airlines in the WORLD, with a great Mech Department and Pilot Training Department.

Have flown on Aegean several times and U.S carriers could learn a thing or two about service from them .
BTW how do you like flying into Heraklio?
Nice approach on that one .

I am very happy over at Aegean Airlines. Company is growing every year and we just posted a nice profit. We also ordered new Airbus 320s and 321s which will replace the 737s by next year and eventually the AVRO 100s by at least 2010.

Heraklio has a nice approach, but try going into SAMOS .. I get windshear on approach about 70% of the time ....! Very difficult flying in the Greek islands but can't complain.

P.S- How you like our Flight Attendants ??

Have the 146,s been replaced?
Speaking of Heraklio I once watched a CityBird MD11 takeoff out of there and it was interesting to watch him get that big girl out of there
As for the F/A,s they are pleasant to the eye
I remember when OA used to have 707,s and would land at the old airport in Heraklio.
BTW the new Athens airport is much more user friendly then the old airport with its single runway.

The Avro RJ 100s are still in the fleet, 6 of them to be exact, great airplane!!

A lot of rumors of what will replace the fleet, I've heard A319s.

The new Athens Airport is great, almost identical to Frankfurt airport. I am a fan of the old airport, loved how it was in Athens, with a great beach approach.
