Default Emirates Jumpseating

Anyone ever jumpseat on Emirates? I'm thinking of heading to the Seychells for a week mainly so I can jump on the 380 from JFK to Dubai. Anyone out there with any experince with this?

To my knowledge, there is NO jumpseating on EK.

That same question was asked in the road show and their response was, the jumpseat used to be open but due to company policy it is no longer open. You must travel by passes now.

Ha ha ha. Even Emirates pilots don't have access to the jumpseat. When we have asked about it we have been told, "not only no, but HELL NO."

thats a shame too... that A380 that EK has is configured with 14 First Class seats and 76 Business in the upper deck, complete with bar/lounge. the 380 is going to be the only way to travel!

No jumpseat here at EK...however look into getting a Z fare from JFK to your destination and enjoy the "emirates" hospitality !!

Use the search function. OR, just type in the username typhoonpilot. Just about ANYTHING he has posted on has to do with Emirates, as well as their hiring situation since he works there.

There are currently about 140 poolies treading water in a holding pool. Calls are supposed to start at the end of the year for course dates at the beginning of next year. However, that was before talks at Boeing broke down. and countries started going bankrupt!

Currently, hiring is suspended and supposed to start sometime next year. When it does start up again, I'd bet the competition is going to be fierce.
