Anyhow, I don't see the point in arguing "how many stars does a Dubai Hotel has," when most RA is the US put pilots in Motels. Any treatment better than that deserves more recognition.

As one who has worked off shore for two different airlines during a furlough, don't get taken by the romance of working overseas.
I know several pilots who got there and quit on the spot. I know others who trashed their families trying to keep the dollars flowing.
It takes a special kind of person to make it work.

Does anyone know what total time the folks getting hired at Korean Air have had lately??

If there is anyone out there commuting from the west coast of the states... How does the commute work? Can you commute from anywhere the KAL flies into?

"If" you were lucky enough to choose Cathay FO or KAL FO which one would it be and why??

Cheers,

CEFO

Between Cathay or Korean, I would choose Cathay. If you join Korean as an FO, you will retire as an FO. There is no upgrade program for expats. At Cathay you have a possible upgrade, although it will be a 20 year wait. But at least the chance is there unlike Korean.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!!!!

A four year old thread brought back to life, with thread drift no less.

Answer = Yes, you can commute from anywhere KAL flies.

Answer = Cathay over KAL, but Cathay aren't hiring.
