Aerolineas Argentinas
Any idea on when they are going to hire, and how difficult it is to convert an American ATP to an Argentinian TLA, any ideas. This questions comes in the wake of Austral getting E 190 and Aerolineas getting new airplanes to replace the good old -200.

Are you a citizen and do you read and write Spanish? Apparently you need to have graduated from high school in Argentina as well to get a CPL. The have reciprocal agreements with other countries but they don't recognize American high schools. You must be a citizen as well to hold a CPL. Best bet it to hope the hire you based off your FAA credentials.
This is what I've read, if someone has any other information let us know.

STBLOC you are correct my old roommate came here from Argetina- did all his flight training here and instructed, while obtaining his bachelors degree. Decided he wanted to go back to Argentina. Had to convert all his licenses, took him a bit over a year. And now he flies for the govt. Last time I spoke with him, there was demand but If your not a citizen you are pretty much out of luck.
