Default Emirates accommodations

So I just found out my housing accommodation in Dubai. It is called the Garden Apartments in Umm Suqeim. It is very close to the beach. I know it is a highly sought after complex, but have been unable to find any photos or information about them. ( sorry I did not use the "compound" word, but after looking all over Dubai, I did not find any "compounds".)

I requested several other buildings as well, since I had information on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe he's just trying to get some inside information from another expat pilot. Perhaps there's another Emirates pilot who could help him learn more about the place he's going to live.

Try Google Earth coordinates 25 08 36.08 N 55 12 17.37 E

If it's not that street it's pretty close to there. I've only been there once and it was over 4 years ago so I can't remember exactly how to get there. It's off Al Wasl Rd near the small Choitram supermarket and close to National Cement Villas.

Had a friend who lived there for a short while and he seemed to like it. A new joiner recently said he was having issues with mosque noise interrupting his sleep. That's a problem anywhere in the Middle East though. You get used to it over time. Just bring lots of good ear plugs from the USA to help initially.

No, not bragging at all. I only knew of a few of the "towers" that I had some friends that lived in before opting out to the housing, but had no info on the apt given to me other than a few words from HR during the selection process.

Thanks TP. I was hoping you might chime up. I have used your info and thoughts on here numerous times. Hope to still meet you one day, although I have been assigned the Airbus and sim training will be in France.

I got a quick tour of one of the Garden Apartments a couple days ago. The one I saw was nice and good sized. In my opinion you lucked out.

The Garden Apts. are probably one of, if not the most desired places to live other than some primo villas. Excellent location. More family like than many of the others. Very much like condos in the US. Have a friend living there who moved from the Millineum. He loves it. Unfortunately, ususally you have the choice between mosque call to prayer five times a day or traffic noise 24 hours a day at all the apartment buildings. Tecom building is an excellent choice which has neither of the above. Just noise from the gym when the muscle head wannabes drop the weights I've heard.

Hey Pilotguy,
I was wondering if you are still at the Garden Apartments and can share some infor about it. I just received an email from the company that I will be there as well starting in OCT but I still can't find anything about it.

Thanks

Mixed bag right now as there is a few spots at a few of the villa complexs. The next large EK villa location is at Meydan ( the race track ) @ 500 villas all pilots. That will cover intake for the next 12-18 months.
