having flown the RJ for 7 years in the states, and now on the heavy in the sandpit I can tell you it's quite different... different ATC, different routes and rules, and definitely not the same plane...

I agree with you, it is very different because flying the RJ dealing with the Midwest winters, severe weather during the summer months while doing six sectors a day with several MEL stickers and an F/O with 250 hours is HARD work man, this gig is very easy in comparison

Dear Emirates

Why do you post mins on your website and on climb*****.com that are one thing, and then when people apply you tell them you dont meet their mins because we dont have enough time on A/C that are over 30t.

why dont they publish this? I applied with more then their mins and then get an email saying that I dont meet their mins? IF YOU HAVE A 30t MIN THEN PUBLISH THE MOTHA *******!!!!!!

Welcome to the world of unions-are-illegal Middle Eastern airline carriers. What they publish, things like hiring minimums or your employment terms/conditions, can and will change in a heartbeat with no prior heads up or explanation. The 30 ton rule is an example of an unpublished requirement. Ask EK pilots about their erosion of T&C in the past few years.

You have a valid point sinse ALPA has prevented the erosion of T&C's here in the US.

So, 30tons would be 60,000 lbs. I guess a CRJ700 or CRJ900 would qualify? How much time do they require on aicraft over 30 tons?

Yes, CRJ 700 and 900 qualify.

1 hour. So you can have 1999 in the CRJ 200 and 1 hour in the 700 and that qualifies. At least that is what is happening right now.

This has to be one of the most idiototic things I have come across... so 100 hours of CRJ7 time is better then 6000 in the CRJ2 because its 19,000LBS heavier then the 200. Who comes up with this BS.

Being content with stuff like this is one of the corner stones of "making it" at Emirates! :D
