I'll drink to that :)

This has to be one of the most idiototic things I have come across... so 100 hours of CRJ7 time is better then 6000 in the CRJ2 because its 19,000LBS heavier then the 200. Who comes up with this BS.

Their DGCA, and EK, and those who are in control. It's not as if they woke up one day and asked themselves what they can do to appear more bizarre… Hey wait… they don’t have to.

Then why dont they publish it in their mins? First off it would save them the time of having to go through thousands of applications, and save those of us the time of filling it out.
Thats whats so bizarre to me... They're just making a lot more work for themselves.

Because neither flight ops management not recruiting agree with the arbitrary minimum. The number comes from higher up. Recruiting want people with time in lower weight airplanes to apply so that they can take the statistics to management and show them. This way when they run out of guys with time in aircraft over 30 tonnes the minimums will drop appropriately. The desired level is 10 tonnes.

So one should still apply. The minimums will drop in the near future.

I hear that they will soon run out.

What brings this minimum requirement after all? I am sure there must a reason behind it.

I have nothing but crj-200 time, so some of us do get in.

I guess it's kinda like how 1000 PIC at "SpeedyUpgradePuppyMill Airline" is better than 7000 SIC at Comair, Horizon, or Eagle.

What I heard at the ATL job fair a while back that they did it to slow down the amount of applications they were getting after the worldwide economical downturn, the conditions are very different now so I wouldn't be surprised if they do away with this requirement at some point

That's why this "requirement" has never officially been announced on the Group Careers Website. So they can apply it whenever they feel like it.

Personally, I thought it would be more honest to have these "requirements" published openly.
