There was a Pprune thread on LAN on the process. You must have the right to live and work in Chile and be fluent in Spanish, IIRC.

I will say SA flying is miserable work--all night flying for the most part. Leave at 11pm, arrive at 9am stuff.

LAN takes care of the work permit apparently...I e-mailed HR with my basic data (nationality, hours, education etc...) and got a very nice e-mail back asking for a resume and a form to fill out.

A friend of mine who is a US citizen got hired by them with about 300-400 TT and speaks fluent english/spanish. Word is he was making upwards of 100K but dont quote me on that one. I also heared that if you just had some glass time your in as long as your able to pass the phsycal/psycological exams.

That is the salary of a captain on the 76 with 5 to 6 year seniority. I researched them briefly since I am a Latino and would love to go back and fly in Latin America, but their T&C's are pathetic. Also their selection process is very strict and most people don't meet the LAN profile on the psychological interview
