I hear there is no money over-there as of yet for corporate pilots, meaning you'd make more in the U.S, or the Mid East... However it is starting to get better. As the corporate-pilot shortage in Asia takes hold, salaries should rise

I've seen ads for Global and/or G-V captains-$110-$115, G-V F/Os- $70,000-$80,000.

over in the Middle East they're paying some G-V/Global captains $140K+

Online their posting says $98,640 annually for FOs which includes $1200 / month for housing.

Do they keep your passport when you go to China ? Does anyone have an information on quality of life in China? Any info on the contract's commutability, housing situation, and the flying would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi all,
I'm currently an A320 Captain for Shenzhen Airlines. BAA is popular in this neck of the woods as they have quite a few planes on order. They are based in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing to name a few. It just depends on which aircraft and for which client. Here is the salary quote that was just emailed to me by Wasinc.

For the G550/450 type rated captains 10800/mo
For the F7X/F900EX type rated captain 9800
For the HW4000, CL850, CL605 type rated captain 8800

Non typed captains are 9000, 8100, 7200 respectively
All Captains receive 2400 month housing plus per diem

FO's are as follows...

G450/550 typed 7020
F7X/F900EX typed 6370
HW4000, CL850, CL605 5720

Non typed fo's are 5850,5265, and 4680 respectively
All FO's receive 1200 month housing plus per diem

Per diems for Asia 100/day
US/Australia 80/day
Europe 140/day

I know a few guys there and they seem content. I'd be over there if they had a commuting roster. They also have a couple A318CJ's. I think the pay is similar to the G450/550...maybe slightly higher, I haven't checked lately.

Hope that helps....

Galaxy flyer, is the $140,000 before taxes or after taxes? Here is China, most contracts are with China paying the taxes, so do the math.

Good point, I was speaking gross in the US. Considerably less than overseas w/o taxes.

OceanicPilot, if you don't mind me asking, what is your nationality? And how did you get the job at Shen Zhen airline? Do they still hire American pilots?

WASINC is the contracting agency who represents Shenzhen Airlines. Shenzhen is still recruiting pilots from all walks of life.
