Default Kuwait Airways

I really like Kuwait and have often wondered if Kuwait Airways hire ex-pat pilots? If so, what is their process like? Living in the country would be a unique experience that I'd like to maybe think about doing in the future.

Let me put out this disclaimer right up front (just in case a troll searches my posting history and finds out my TT) that I'm not actively looking, just wondering for the future.

You don't have to worry about the troll part here, as moderators on this forum take their job seriously and do an outstanding job of weeding out trolls and flame baits. On the other hand, senior expat contributors on this section deserve sincere thank you from newbies like me for their time and effort they put to mentor.

I owe some beer to all the folks out there who have been actively guiding us; and keep those suggestions and information coming. Kudos to the mods and contributors.

Kuwait does not hire expats any longer. They had them 20-30 years ago. Jazeera started with a bunch of expats, as did Wataniya. Wataniya has since gone out of business while many of the expats at Jazeera moved on to other gigs.

Kuwait is a distant 5th behind the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman for pilot jobs in the Gulf region.

Hum darn...

Thanks for the info. Jazeera was going to be my next question but I figured there was a lot of movement laterally when Wataniya went bust.

What was the requirements for Jazeera? Do you recall? I really enjoyed Kuwait (much more than my time in DXB) and am just seeing what is possible should I explore that route.

Have you flown on Kuwait? There planes are very dated. I have flown them several times. Crews are great and the CA is actually in charge of the flight. But they only hire Citizens of Kuwait.
