You guys are right. I've never had a reason to check these boards, and will have to figure out how to PM. Trying to find a parachute or two as the "legacy" begins to burn. How do I catch up with these guys?

Thanks!

Koru,

Where, if anywhere, can I find job listings in Africa?

I currently work for a regional and with the current

state of the industry in the US that may not last for

too much longer. Additionally, what does it take to

convert FAA licenses to ones recognized by employers

in Africa? Thanks in advance for the guidance... I'm

hoping I can turn my possible furlough into the experience

of a lifetime. Thanks again.

I've never flown in Africa but a good friend of mine has. He just decided on a place to go and then went through the JP Fleet Guide.

I did get a call from Bellview for the B767, and I think they offer a commute, but that was a while back. I don't know much about them, but I understand one of our guy's went there for a while om LOA. Likely one of the best of the worst. Hewa Bora apparently is a nightmare, but perhaps Transafrik would be up your alley as they pay OK and you can (could anyway) do month on month off. They fly B727's and Hercs.

Solenta out of SA hires expats for their ATR's. Decent operation but not so decent places to live. That's where my buddy was and he based out of Abidjan (good), as well as Monrovia and Freetown (very very bad). Depends on what your into I recon.

Personally I'd just get a copy of the JP Fleet Guide and start phoning people. In other parts of the world they are still pretty desperate for good drivers (they need them to get into the EU) so with any amount of jet or TP time you'll find a job; just be a bit picky.
