Jet Airways B777 Captain vacancies.JFK basing

Saw this today. If EY is involved would be a first to have a commuting contract out of UAE.

B777 Captains - JFK, IST, AUH, BOM bases with Flight Crew International (FCI) | 1401375619

Looks like Jet Airways in India, as result of the EY buying a minority stake in Jet Airways India.

Looks like the company has realized the only way to find American Pilots is either to offer commuting contracts or US basing. SO, here's the US base.

There's a long thread with good info on pprune, not a bad gig for the right person but do your homework first guys.

This part of the ad was what attracted my attention.
"We are seeking B777 Captains to be based at JFK International Airport in New York with Jet Airways in conjunction with their partnership with Etihad".
A commuting job might be nice but I remember what they did with their expats the last time they had a downturn. A Mumbai base would be a deal breaker for me though I could handle staying in a hotel when in country.
The conditions seemed too good to be true and in my experience when that happens it is too good to be true.
Rumor here is that Jet is supposed to operate the second EY daily JFK.

This is an indicator of a larger developing shortage of "qualified" pilots around the world. We will see some loosening of currency requirements and a willingness of the foreign carriers to allow out station basing in order to fill their seats.

Dont forget guys that India has been in the process of removing ALL expat pilots from the country. If Etihad is basing pilots at JFK then its fine but Jet Airways can and will terminate expats when they get notice from DGCA.

Buyers beware!

Exactly. Maybe a couple at Omni. But for the most part, B777 Captains in the USA are super senior at their respective airline and not in danger of any furlough.
