As far as finding guys/gals that work there, as well as general info, I'd suggest trying here first:

Existing FlyDubai thread

And regarding pay, expect Dh39,500 (aprox $10,700)/month for FOs. This includes basic salary, housing allowance, transportation allowance, and flight pay (based on an 80hr month).

Bear in mind the cost of living in Dubai is significantly more expensive than back in the US. You'll be spending roughly half of that in just housing/living expenses.

If you have family, you're probably better off staying back home or trying for Emirates or Etihad - they provide you with a place to live.

Check out the Middle East Forum under pprune.org. You'll probably have better success there.

Etihad discussions are prohibited on pprune.

Any idea why that is? I'm interested in both Emirates and Etihad so was curious why that was.

Etihad management got tired of being bashed on PPrune and forced, through court action or what I'm not sure, PPrune to prohibit the use of it's name in their forum.

You still get threads about "the airline that can't be named" on occasion.

There are a couple of Etihad guys on here who give good info.

The website of Flydubai has been updated and revamped. They had salary information listed before it is mysterious as to why they would not make it public.
