As far as finding guys/gals that work there, as well as general info, I'd suggest trying here first:

Bear in mind the cost of living in Dubai is significantly more expensive than back in the US. You'll be spending roughly half of that in just housing/living expenses.
If you have family, you're probably better off staying back home or trying for Emirates or Etihad - they provide you with a place to live.
