Hi, I'm waiting for my interview, should be scheduled next week , I understand they have 15 or so 900s... 4 weeks on 4 weeks off for commuters or permanent resident schedule...
The pay is good, 18k to 20 k depending the schedule you work.. This includes allowances.
Looks like I'll be interviewing at chinqin China. I have been doing some research on the city... It's like any other big city... Rapidly growing , highly poluted and loud.
I'll get a better idea of the company and Ops at the interview , since I have lots of questions myself.
I'll post more info for you after I get back from China.

Did you go through VOR? I've been trying to get in touch with them but it seems that once I started asking a few questions the emails stopped. All I really got was that the 4 on 4 off guys are not evening flying 700 hours so really none of the bonus money will be there. But once I asked more it has been crickets from them.

One of the nicer more pleasant cities in China but be prepared if you've never lived or flown in or out of China. It's not like anywhere else in the world. You will want to shoot yourself after about a year. Do not believe the bit about bonuses either its a trick to get you to come. Your FOs will be low time non english speaking (mostly) Chinese nationals. Not saying anything bad about them or their culture just that it's not the west. That issue by itself will risk your bonuses everyday.
If you are really laid back and nothing bothers you you can give it a go but read all the posts about China. It's not for the faint of heart.
Good luck with the medical, exams, training and six months checking. You most likely will fly as an FO for a bit as well.

Yes, went through VOR, they have been very helpful and gave me all the info I needed. I'm having my interview in October , not September anymore ( because it's very hard to get any time off in my current airline) please let me know if I can provide you with any info or help.
Good luck !

If you're interested PM me and I can put you in direct contact with China Express. Don't waste your time with a recruiter.
Expats can expect to be based in Hohhot. It has the most destinations approved for expats and is generally considered a much better place to live. The commuter schedule is 15th-14th. You will fly 70-80 hours 15-30/31 and 70-80 hours 1-14. Expect about 850 hours a year. That works out to about $200K.
The company is a private airline. They are growing and recently purchased a couple Airbus. New bases are being discussed (Tianjin and Shenzhen). $6K/mth in training. Sim is Toronto or Spain.
Everyone is extremely affable. They want you there. They want you to work. The selection process is about 20% acceptance. Mostly sim and medical failures.
