I work 121 days per year after PTO and vacation. Not sure how many overnights but maybe 100? I'm on the 52 day ....it tends to go senior but sometimes it doesn't.

Upgrade isn't in sight but in the mean time life is good.

Do fractionals (or corporate outfits for that matter) frown on ex-121 regional pilots?

I would eventually like a corporate gig, but am finding it tough to obtain some sort of entry level F/O slot.

From a training standpoint regional pilots do well. It is finding the pilots that are willing to do all of the othe aspects of the job that is hard. Some people don’t want to clean, stock, load bags......

All of this.

Agreed wholeheartedly! Majors QOL is much better than NJA QOL! NJA Pilots are a great group of folks.

In terms of pay and schedule, with the airlines it’s kinda similar to CC72 pay making minimum guarantee, but working 12-13 days a month if that.

That depends on where you work. I know a lot of guys at major airlines that can only dream about only working 12-13 days a month. That said, most other aspects outside of comuting will be better at a major airline.

I am pretty happy at NetJets, but I'm at the other NetJets- the GLC side as an FO. I could be a captain in the slave ship fleets if I wanted, but QOL in the Globals is good enough to accept a bit less pay to remain SIC. Even in the slave ships, they can only work you as hard as YOU accept. If you are tired, call in fatigued. I fly more hours in the Global, but my overnights are also about 5 hours longer on average than they were in small fleets. As for doing this with young children, even the 7&7 has you gone for a week at a time which is not particularly good on family life with kids. Honestly, if I hadn't bean trapped here for most of my time here I'd have done the major airline thing (if I got hired, though I never tried once hiring became easier). I'm senior enough now to have lots of options at NetJets without having to start over somewhere else. Good luck whatever you decide, but know that you probably will be working an average of 18 days a month in a Phenom 300 for at least your first 6 months before you are able to get a 7&7 or cc60. Cc52 is probably years away, but much closer than PIC. PIC is closer at most majors for a new hire. A career in aviation is tough until you have seniority at a good job and then only if your company doesn't fail.

Which majors don’t net you 16-17 days off at min guarantee?

You bypassed upgrade because of the quality of life difference between the right seat of the Global and the left seat of the Phenom?

I've never looked at the seniority list on the sic global side. There are a lot of folks that could hold captain but have apparently bypassed also.

They are all losing over $50,000 per year because they don't want to fly a Phenom. Or they could look at like they are paying $50,000 per year to not fly the Phenom.

I do find it curious how you quantify $50,000 as....a bit less pay. We are operating on two very different scales of economy. My threshold for .... a bit less pay....doesn't involve five digits :p

With seniority you can get that many days off or maybe at a hideous junior base and still have a descent paycheck, but that isn't the case for those I know at UA and AA who are rather junior. Southwest is the only one I know about that one can fairly quickly get reasonable pay for minimum of days worked. I admit I don't know anyone at Delta so maybe it is different there, but I have my doubts.
