Fractional QOL

Quick to ask but I imagine complicated to answer..

Which fractional affords the best QOL? QOL meaning both on the the road and time off at home. It can be the same or different operations. Just curious.

NetJets by a wide margin, pay, excellent insurance, 7 on 7 off schedule, etc. After 10 years you get 4 weeks a year vacation. On the 7-7 that means (usually) 21 days off 4 times a year. No one else even comes close.
I would guess XOJet for 2nd place but I haven't kept up with what's going on over there.

I think Netjets is probably the best, I have worked for Wheelsup/Gama , Wheelsup gives you a lot of company swag etc but NetJets gives you really good benefits and prides itself on being at the top of the industry. Figure your going to make $100K first year on 7/7 schedule on new contract and that's working about 5 months. Once you have a schedule you can get a second job or have a home business, and they make you Platinum and Diamond at all the hotels, you keep all your travel miles and we fly on a commercial ticket at the end of the tour home, which if you ever commuted for 121 is a huge difference. People are pretty happy. Don't get me wrong I thought Gama was more laid back, they are going to polo shirt uniforms I think so not taking anything away but NetJets feels more secure.

NetJets will be the best in every category except on the road QOL. Every job, including 24/7 on call, crap charter jobs had better on the road QOL.

NetJets is absolutely unmatched in every other category though.

A lot of us ,disagree with you about the QOL on the road bit,but agree with you on the rest, Cheers out : ) ,oh yes currently on 7&7 on the mighty XL, LOL , the vast majority of folks on the property don’t post here or on the company boards, the histrionics here make for light comedy, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion, hey I’m not a cheerleader , everything is roses type of guy but things have gotten better, and the vast majority of the guys I fly with are cautiously optimistic going forward . Cheers : )

NJA will certainly offer the most choice in how much you want to be on the road, with five different schedules to choose from (bid on, anyway. The CC52 can be tough to get), as well as options within schedules on maximum number of days on the road at a time. All travel and training is done on scheduled work days. Number of vacation weeks goes from 2 after one year of service to 3 after five YOS to 4 after ten YOS. You may change your base at will, with a 15-day notice to the company.

On the road expect a 10-12 hour duty period to be normal. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

I'm on he road to work and now the more you work the more overages you get, people are averaging about $2500 a tour in overages on Latitude. 1/3 of that gets to 401K though.

You’re not?

Oh, that’s right! This message board is light comedy. Didn’t realize you were joking. Sorry, my bad.

You can disagree. I venture to guess your on the road QOL at K4 was probably better than NJA.

No rental cars, huge spectrum in hotel quality depending on where you are, 12 hours or less layovers are the most common. The company does whatever they can to get 12 hours of duty a day out of you, and there is usually either multiple flight legs a day, and multiple schedule changes a day.

At XO, if they don’t have something for you, you automatically go to the hotel. At NJA you will hold up the walls at an FBO if you have the duty.

I totally get the mantra of wanting to work on the road, I feel the same way. If I’m working I don’t need to be sitting around doing nothing. I won’t compare airline QOL to NJA, just merely comparing private jet/charter/fractional QOL and NJA was the worst on the road QOL for me.

No experience with either company, but as a frequent FBO user, I can attest to this.
