This is really sad.. This hearkens back to “Bloody Saturday” at XOJET in 2009 under Siegel’s management, where they fired 1/5 of all pilots in a single day, some getting greeted by rent a cops at FBO’s after they landed.. demanding their ID, CC, etc.. Only a dying snake strikes at itself.

I used to give full throated endorsements for XO. It WAS an awesome place. I no longer feel it is. My advice is steer clear or know full well what your getting in to. No longer based in employee friendly CA, but employer friendly FL. You can be terminated at anytime for any reason as has been proved in the last few weeks.

Well, to be fair, CA is also an at-will state...but in other situations yes it's an employee friendly state. My favorite was when they changed the way we accrued sick time and tried to wipe our balances to zero on the cut-over date. Thanks to California labor law, and some significant push back from the pilots, our sick banks were restored.

Is this what awaits those at JetEdge or those who were potentially thinking about going there??

No one can predict the future, but the same folks will be overseeing it all, so…

An issue with the A/P caused the F/A to fall and break her ankle badly enough that surgery was required.

I work for Redwing Aviation / XO Jet Jet flying the Citation Excel. I realize that a lot of changes has transpired over the past 18 months or so within the company and some have been in the interest of streamlining between the various entities making up XO Jets.
My experience has been very positive. The company really tries to set a high standard and helps the air crews to meet these standards. Some of the various apps we’re using aren’t all well integrated but name me a company where all IT is 💯.
The support is top notch. Our operations are really eager to help us and I have yet to feel that we weren’t all working to achieve the same goal. Maintenance is proactive and works with the aircrews to plan ahead.

The rotation is 15/13. It can seem daunting at first but we usually have a stand down day midway through, usually in a decent location, where we can sightsee and do some laundry.
Hotels are usually Hiltons, IHGs (Crowne Plaza), and Marriott. We get to keep the points when we stay which is nice. The same goes for our commercial flights between aircraft.

The nice part of the flying is that you’re basically your own island with outside supplies provided to you. You receive your travel itinerary ahead of time and you just execute this. You’re together as a crew for the rotation, and since the company is really trying to ensure the pilots are hired for their personality, you usually get along great.

The pay could be better and reading about other companies, XO Jet is not the industry leader on pay. The pay is not bad, it just could be better. Benefits seems comparable are are good by most standards.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking to fly in part 135. Having a schedule you know a year in advance allows you to plan and you don’t have to wait for a schedule to be released every month.
