Does anyone know if Avantair uses a military flight time conversion?

Hello guys.

Might have an interview there.

Anybody know what the current bases are?

How about interview gouge?

Thanks!

You must live within 2 hours of:
Atlanta GA (ATL)

Baltimore MD (BWI)
Boston MA
Caldwell, NJ (CDW)
Chicago IL (ORD)
Charlotte NC (CLT)
Cleveland OH (CLE)
Columbus OH (CMH)
Dallas-Fort Worth TX (DFW)
Denver CO (DEN)
Houston TX (IAH)
Las Vegas NV (LAS)
Los Angeles, CA (LAX)
New York, NY (JFK) (LGA)
Newark, NJ (EWR)
Phoenix AZ (PHX)
San Francisco CA (SFO)
St Louis MO (STL)
St Petersburg FL (PIE)

For the interview know some about the company and the aircraft. Just a couple what would you do questions and some basic knowledge IFR type stuff. No sim no physical. Nice people there. Plan a couple hours. Look for any VNR pilots at the hotel pub or at breakfast.

Plan to pay for your flight and hotel. They will reimburse you if you are hired. Good luck.

Thanks for that info Pilatapus!

Do they award bases on seniority or do new hires get to pick and choose?

Now, I just spoke to Elizabeth, and she told me to expect a sim ride when I do the interview. Do you know what kind of sim they currently use?

Haven't been flying for a couple years and want to prep before I go.

As far as I know the bases are whatever one you want but I am not 100 percent sure. No idea on the sim. Maybe a computer based flight sim????

Base is applicant's choice, and long as that gateway is 'open'. Only Elizabeth knows which locations are full. Make sure if you want one location you discuss this with her at the interview and make sure there can be no questions later.

It is an Elite PCATD type sim. Very simple, yoke, throttle quadrant, radio stack and pedals I beleive. I don't know what airplane it is made to replicate, maybe king air? Either way, they're just looking for instrument skills, not flying skills.
Can you do steep turns, an ILS, go missed, and enter a hold kind of things.

Avantair people...

How's it going out there? Any word... phone calls, actual interviews, new hires?

FlyHappy 01-31-2008 06:12 PM

If you ask nicely most FBOs will let you park free in their lots and do the pick-up/drop off from the terminal. Just be sure to let them know you appreciate it (because that's not their job) and tip the line guys that do the drop off and pick-up. Above all don't be a jerk and ruin it for everyone else like has happened with at least one well-know fractional at at least one FBO.
