Avantair

Besides the information found on this site, does anybody know what it's like to work for Avantair? How does the company treat its pilots? Equipment quality? Quality of life? Realistic pay? Time away from home?

Netjets is hiring if you would rather fly jets. I hear Avantair is getting better and the Piaggio II (with Pro Line 21 system) is fun to fly. Expect many more short hops per day if you fly for Avantair.

I talked to a couple of guys from AvantAir who overnighted at FXE not long ago. Don't have specifics, but they were both guys who had been around, and they were happy with conditions and treatment. No complaints is always a good thing, especially in this industry!

I know a guy that works for them. He likes it. From what he's told me, it sounds like the mix of flying is similar to what guys at NetJets on the Citation Ultra fly.

I'm there and love it. I've flown passenger and freight prior and I have to say corporate is where it's at. Avantair treats me fine and I see a ton of potential.

Do they hire First officers in the Piaggio? Who would you address a cover letter to?

They look for "Captain Qualified" First Officers. The upgrade time, based on merit, can occur at the 12 month recurrent that way.

[email protected] is where they want the resume sent. The recruiter is Elizabeth Place.

Are First Officers doing any flying now? Some time back there was a thread here on APC that said Avantair FOs had many restrictions on when and if they could actually fly, i.e. no class B operations.
