Avantair...Minimums

Hey all,

I was wondering if I had 1000 hours Multi in a Piper Seminole (piston twin trainer) and around 500 Diamond Jet PIC (D-Jet is single engine) would I be avantair material? Thanks all.

I assume you aren't flying the djet as it is not certified... unless you are a test pilot. Your post leads one to believe you are flying the Djet. My guess is you are talking about the Mitsubishi Diamond Jet?

Send your resume in and check with them. No one on here will be able to tell you for sure.

Perhaps he works as a flight instructor at a flight school that will be getting D-Jets and he is thinking ahead... I think American Flyers is scheduled to get a bunch of D-Jets after it is certified.

Personally, I'd go to a fast-upgrading regional, get the minimum PIC time and then apply. Why not get your D-Jet instructing experience and then get hired by some wealthy person to fly his D-Jet single pilot around the country? That jet looks like a hot ride - nice Garmin 1000 package!

Good luck.

Oh you think it's hypothetical. Ok I thought that was kind of a strange combo of time to have (if it was the MU-300). Man if flight schools are going to have turbine trainers en mass, that's going to confuse some recruiters. Who knows how that will affect minimum flight experience requirements.

Teezy for future reference call it the Diamond D-jet or just the D-jet. Diamond Jet makes dopes like me think you are talking about an old MU-300 Diamond Jet.

LoL sorry about the confusion...I am currently a CFI with ATP flight school and we are getting a bunch of Diamond Jets...D-Jets...The ones that arent out yet...they say we are getting them in 2008. I actually want to get a D-Jet type rating and get a bunch of D-Jet time and then hope that my D-Jet experience and piper seminole time will get me on board with Avantair...I think the Catfish is awesome!
