The same rumors were going around last fall about NJ moving to Orlando. An announcement was made that the company will stay in Columbus.

As far as the pilots are concerned, it really doesn't make any difference. You only go to Columbus for training or if you're in trouble.

NetJets has outgrown the Columbus facility/building. That's when DFW, MCO and RDU jumped in to offer NJ all the space they need + incentives. DFW and MCO were eliminated right away. RDU remains in the running.

For us pilots it makes no diff. what happens. I don't care where I do my company recurrent RDU or CMH.

I've been hearing the RDU rumor, IF Port of Columbus and the state of Ohio don't pony up the sweetheart deal needed for an expansion [in Columbus]. For pilots, it probably won't make too much difference. For management and support types there could be an impact.

I know it doesn't affect many pilots, but I think most of the corporate people would be partial to the warmer weather. I live in CMH, I know.

Most of the worker bees are from the Columbus area and I'm sure not all of them would want to leave. That said, RDU has plenty of universities to draw replacements from. I think it would be interesting to see how it shakes up the Chief and Assistant Chief pilot ranks- how many are set in CMH and wouldn't move since they could just go back to the line and stay in CMH?

It is no rumor. Netjets is researching it's options. RDU and CMH are both in the running. No decision has been made yet (at least nothing has been made public). I'd expect we'll all get an email when a decision has been made, just like we got an email when MCO was eliminated.

Flew over RDU yesterday. Gotta say there sure is a lot of nice, empty space over there on the east side of the airport. We could have the entire place to ourselves. And there wasn't any snow on the ground either (stupid snow)
