Default Citation Shares Domicile Changes

How easy is it to change domiciles with CS? Since they are hiring into specific domiciles I am sure it isn't easy, what is the real word?

Someone posted the answer to this recently here or on that other site and all it takes is an e-mail to your ACP (Assistant Chief Pilot) and a e-mail to the Travel Dept. to let them both know when you are going to be moved into your new domicile (within 120 minute drive of your residence) and ready to start/stop tours there.

How about explaining why, with examples if you can? This will help those reading this thread to understand what you mean instead of just making a blank statement like you have that only you know the answer too. Thanks

Sorry I was a little pressed for time. The policy states that all base changes have to be approved by the chief pilot. This means he can approve or deny any base change. CS is trying to build up the big bases so they are giving people a lot harder time if they are trying to move to a small base and welcoming the changes to the big base. I don't want this to turn into a pro union rally but that fact that one man can and has denied base changes makes this a huge qol issue if you ever plan on moving. You better have a story like your mother is sick so you are moving to help her because just moving to move may not fly. Now if one thinks they can just get hired into a big base and later on move to one of the smaller bases I would be very careful. One of the newer guys tried this and was denied his base change. CS is a great job but I just want people to come with a full understanding of the current situation. Feel free to ask me any more questions

Thats what I was wondering about... seemed like a back door way of getting into your domicile of preference eventhough they weren't hiring for it!

What is the domicile currently geting the most new hires? I haven't seen any movement on my PHX app... probably cause I don't have a residence there, just willing to move!

How does it benefit them to have more people at the bigger bases? It seems as though having people more spread out would give them more options with regard to getting people into position for the lowest possible price.

Because they have been trying to start crews out in base with an airplane and get them back to base with an airplane at the end of tour. If they have more crews at one base, that gives them more crews to staff more airplanes and do swaps with. They end up being able to get more use of crews on Days 1 and 7 instead of having to burn time airlining crews to and from an aircraft.
