Default NJA -- Please help

I am brand new to this board. Thanks in advance for your help.

I originally sent my app to NJA in late January 2008 via next day mail, signed receipt required. I received an email letting me know that they RECEIVED my resume on March 26th!! -- It took them over 60 days to "receive" my resume.

I have still heard nothing from NJA. I never received a letter saying that I was not what they were looking for and I don't believe they were even giving phone interviews in March.

Where do I go from here? Should I assume that I will never get an interview if I haven't been contacted by now? Should I reapply? Should I place a phone call? My email dated 26 March was from Derinda.

Once again, my most sincere thanks.

Heard a lot of things about NJA over here, but you['re not alone. There are plenty of people who are waiting to hear back. Previously, it was said that no news is good news, and that patience is the key. Heard a rumor they're revamping their hiring criteria, so things might take longer, but also keep in mind, they have thousands upon thousands of qualified applicants, takes quite a while to sift through the resume's especially when everybody looks exactly the same.

Ya, who knows. I got the "application recieved" email from them last November 9th, Thats 2007 to be more specific, and my phone interview is this october, and its been rescheduled twice. Whatever. I don't think they know whats going on right now. If you get dumped out of the system, just re-apply.

As long as you have the app recieved email you should be good. From here, I would just send in regular updates. Your in the system, just send updated times/resume every once in a while, and hurry up and wait.

Good luck.

Should I update using the form attached to the 26 March email, or do I now use another form off the NJ website?

I sent mine in back in Feb 2008 then in May I received the "Resume received" email. Nothing since. I have internal recs too. I agree on using the supplied PDF form to update your resume.

Does anyone call after they sent their application to make sure it was received? If so, about how long after it’s mailed to you call?

I sent my app return receipt required...so someone had to physically sign for it.

That’s just the clerk at the desk. I was thinking the “show interest” / make sure it’s in the right hands phone call.

All any NetJets pilot can tell you is that there are supposedly 4000 apps on file, with around 1000 of them having internal recs. To be clear, nearly all of the pilots are embarrassed with the inefficiencies and bumbling of our HR department. Derinda no longer works for us. She was the hiring process. HR's shortcomings do not reflect life as NetJets pilot. Good luck to those applying.
