(QS) Pilot cant fly due to fatigue..because??

....Chickens (or Rooster) in Bermuda, the chickens stopped this person from sleeping. Not being critical... just wanted to throw that out there.....

PW305 12-17-2011 02:25 PM

maybe 'Chicken' is the name of a drink down at the Swizzle Inn

Clucking (or crowing) chickens are no less disruptive to rest than is traffic/industrial noise, bad smells, dirty rooms, vermin or drunks/teenaged sports or cheerleading teams/frat punks thundering up and down the halls slamming doors and yelling.

Good call on the part of the pilot. Either cough up the $$ necessary to get the crews a hotel where rest is possible or cancel flights for fatigued crews.

People should not fly if they feel unsafe, end of story.

However if you're doing this just to get back at the company or maybe you really like the overnight, well.... this is the kind of stuff that could sink the ship

The reason behind a noise causing a pilot to not sleep is irrelevant. Not being fit for flight is not being fit for flight.

And the useless thread of the week award goes to......

USMCFLYR 12-18-2011 09:38 AM

I've heard of people complaining about this before. We use to spend some time down at NAS Key West and they have roosters on the ground there to that students and instructors alike have complained about starting their racket very early in the morning. It can certainly be a nuisance.
