There's a TON of former I-Air guys there. From the ones I talk to, they don't ***** much. I'll bet if you threw the same Q up on the "other board" you might get some of them to bite and answer.

It's different than the regionals, and in my (and all the others who came over who I've talked to) opinions- we like it much better. I was an RJ captain and took somewhat of a pay hit, but it has been well worth it with a much better QOL than I ever had at the airline, much better benefits, and a much brighter future than any regional. I miss the jumpseat, but I've also earned 6 frequent flier tickets this year and a couple weeks worth of free hotel stays for when I use the free airline tix.

I've just joined NJA from XJT as of August. I really hated having to leave XJT, great place to work, but as a CLE SRJ CA on eternal reserve, it was time to make a change. I haven't flown the line here at NJA yet, but from what I've seen in training, this is a FANTASTIC company. Of all the "regionals," though, I believe an XJT pilot would have the hardest time leaving behind some of the great provisions we had in our contract. But if you're willing to accept either the 7/7 or "Reserve" schedules at NJA (the only 2 options), then the rest of the QOL questions resolve themselves quite easily!

Hope that helps, if not, post another reply w/ specifics and I'll try again...

Life at NJA is much better that the regionals. I left the regionals over 8 years ago for NJA, was a great move. To be honest it was hard getting use to the sched and not knowing what lies ahead, but now I wouldn't have it anyother way. The QOL at NJA is better in every way, not to mention if I was still at the reginal I'd be a 11 year RJ capt making 80k with a crappy 401k
match and inferior bennies. Now my w-2 will be at 135k at NJA

Hunt599 11-18-2006 03:23 PM

Thanks for the replies guys! I appreciate all the info....I just sent in my cover letter and resume, hopefully Ill hear something!!

One more question...I live in Dallas and know that it is a base....what are the chances of a new hire getting Dallas??

jtf560 11-19-2006 02:15 PM

Chances are about 100 percent if you are willing to wait for whenever they decide they need pilots for the DAL base. Recentlly they have hired into all the bases, but the guys who went to DAL had been waiting longer than most of the others for their interview.

Hunt599 11-25-2006 08:05 AM

Thanks guys..... I sent in my resume and cover on the 18th.....I received the app. yesterday and will be FEDEX'ing it out Mon. morning! I appreciate all the info, it seem like a great place to be!!

jtf560 11-25-2006 05:17 PM

You really don't need to spend the money to FedEx it. Priority mail will work fine whenever you finnish the packet. It took me almost a week to finnish that ***** of an application. Good luck!

XtremeF150 11-26-2006 01:23 AM

Express---are you a FO on the 145 or a CA? I am asking because I am looking at the possibility of making the jump from CRJ FO to Netjets. Thanks for the info.

I am a CA at Express. I would make the jump if I were you. Do your homework on the company. In my mind the only other place I'd rather be is SW, UPS, or FEDEX. I don't know anyone at UPS, or FEDEX and I know 5 guys that paid around $7000 and interviewed at SW, but NO job, they are all at CAL now, but I'd still rather be at NetJets.

captchris 12-01-2006 06:32 PM

Thanks Express---I'd LOVE to make the jump! I'm trying to find some guys that are in my position that have gone through it or are in the process of going through it. Good luck to you though. Why are you thinking about leaving XJT out of curiosity? I am with another top notch regional like you all (AWAC). Life at NJA seems too good to be true though!

Good luck!

Chris

WOW another one of us!?!?!
PM sent!!!

Mosyslack 12-04-2006 07:20 AM

I'm also waiting to hear of a possible interview date. I sent the app mid Oct and got the e-mail telling me I met their mins about two weeks later...begining of Nov. I'm a Comair FO (4 years), worked at Mesa for 3 1/2 years previously, and the airlines just don't have that appeal that they used to...for some odd reason. Everyone that I have spoke with that was in the same boat as me, has loved their experiences at NJ and have not looked back.

My ex flight instructor and good friend worked for pennicle for three years. He left for netjets and said this

"Man I will walk in anyone's resume anyday. I've never been happier in my life, this is the place to be. I know when I'm going to work for a long time in advance and they treat you great"

Of course he hadn't worked at too many other places. But he's very happy. Just built a home as a first year FO.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I am hearing from everyone I talk to. Sent my stuff in today....Im pretty pumped up about the whole thing, so hopefully it will work out!!

XtremeF150 12-05-2006 10:17 PM

letter today

Well, I received a letter today that simply stated thanks for the application HOWEVER we will not be offering you an interview. I was wondering about this so I sent them an e-mail about it requesting any help or information as to why I would not be offered an interview so that I could work on it.

Any of you guys at NJA, I have some good connections to the company but they are not pilots. Should I use these or not to get this interview. I wanted to simply get this interview with no help but it is obviously tougher than I had anticipated. I am 27 years old and I have 3600TT and about 1700 Turb PIC, 400 of that is 121 PIC time. I also have the 4 year degree which I graduated Salutatorian of the class with 3.97 . I don't know why I wouldn't be granted an interview but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hunt599 12-06-2006 04:55 AM

Sorry to hear that Xtreme...hopefully they'll get back to you. There's nothing worse than not knowing why, believe me I know.

ToiletDuck 12-06-2006 06:50 AM

My CFI had about 4k hrs and 1200hrs in a jet when he got hired. I talked to him last night as a matter of fact. I don't now if your times are enough. Send me a PM and I'll give you my email to send your resume too then I'll send it to my bud there and he'll be able to give a more exact reason based on your times.

ToiletDuck 12-06-2006 12:38 PM

I just talked to my friend again. He said you need 5k hrs now to be competitive. He said you have to fight all the regional guys now.

ToiletDuck 12-07-2006 08:19 PM

Also for those wondering he said he leaves in the morning. Goes and flies for a week. They put him in hotels ect. Nice ones. Then he comes back home for a week.
