Four of NJA's domiciles kind of make sense...DAL, TEB, LAX are all airline hubs and CMH is the head shed. However, I do not understand PBI. It is at the end of the line. The air fares to/from PBI are high and the traffic there is very seasonal. During the summer, the Signature ramp is sometimes empty.
I have been domiciled in PBI almost a year and exactly two trips have originated in PBI and zero trips have terminated there. Most of my trips have started with an airline ticket to/through a hub someplace.
To get back to PBI from the west coast takes all day, sometimes resulting in an extended day when they can't get me back prior to midnight. Due to the gross traffic, I can airline from ATL or CLT quicker than I can drive a rental car to MIA, so covering south FL from PBI isn't a reality!
Other than the fact that there is a maintenance facility there, PBI doesn't make sense. Am I missing something?

Most trips originate from wherever the airplane they decide to put you on is scheduled to be the first day of your tour- could be anywhere. I guess I've airlined to the New York area to start more trips than any other general area, but it can really be anywhere- I dropped off an airplane that got picked up by another crew in Greensborough, Georgia (rental car to Athens since there were no taxis there).

All your trips originate from where you are domiciled or home based. That is, that's where you start and end. However, you rarely pick up a plane and crewmember there. Trips generally begin with a commercial flight, or a rental car to where the airplane is and that's where the other crewmember will show up (eventually).
However, aviation being what it is, it isn't unusal to be "airmailed" to a location only to find that the plane that was supposed to be there, isn't. I had a trip over Thanksgiving where I air-lined for three days before I got matched up with a plane and crew. Weather and maintenance are the usual culprits, but sometimes scheduling just makes a boo boo.
