Quote: When I was not the A-code I logged Primary time only as PIC.

On the application it says to use Part 61 rules which does allow you to use the "primary manipulator" criteria. To summarize:

If the A-code
Pri+Sec+Other=PIC

If not the A-code
Pri=PIC
Sec=SIC
Other=added to total time.
What are everyone's thoughts on non-A-code Military Primary time as PIC? Does part 61 really apply for this?

P-funk,
No one asked any questions about my time during my interview at NJA. I did not use any other time. I used a % of primary time as MP or higher to come up with my PIC time. I used 97% of KC-135 time and 90% of my C-12 time. I also used 100% of my solo time in the tweet and my leg of the team ride in the T-1.

How about for your DA interview...Any questions there? (I know, wrong forum.)

Have you guys really tracked what pri time you've flown as the A code? Not me... I'd play it safe and not use any other time in your PIC total. That way you're not tap dancing around the PIC question during your interview.

Any words from NetJets? Was your time conversion and PIC calculation brought into question during you Continental interview (or any others since then)?

Hey there.

I got the job at NJA. No one ever said anything about my flight time. At my interview one of the interviewers looked at my flight summary for about 5 seconds and that was it. I wouldn't stress about it at all. I only counted the non A code primary time as PIC for NJA. I only did so because the flight grid on the application specifically said to use Part 61 rules. So I did. The airline apps I've sent in I used Part 1 rules (ie only counted A code time as PIC - I used 90%). The CAL guys had no problem with my flight time calculations.

Bottom line, just do what you think is right, I don't think it will have any impact on whether you get the job or not. At NJA, if you meet the mins you're golden.
