Hello. Can someone provide information regarding schedule. Specifically to MCO base. Percentages of 1,2,3 and 4 day pairings? Where do you have to be seniority wise to get shorter (1 or 2 day) pairings? Efficient (more than 5 or 6 hr credit) day trips? Efficent 2 days?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

There are a good mix of trips in MCO. Most are unproductive but every once in a while a good one will show up. Once you hold a line there is a lot of flexibility with your schedule. You just have to be fast as stuff disappears from open time in a manner of seconds thanks to Flica alerts.

Thanks for all the responses. Very much appreciated.
So, would it be accurate to say that you could build a schedule with just 1 and 2 day trips, although it may mean having only 12 days off?
On reserve, is there anything preventing doing only 2 day reserve blocks then a day off? (To prevent extended periods away from home)

Theoretically that can be done but reserve day swap is a point of contention right now. It’s tough to do in practice as most requests are denied. You’d have the best chance at that opportunity in Denver.

Don,
When you say “build a schedule” maybe you meant pick a line. We aren’t actually building our schedules exactly we bid on lines, relief, and reserve lines that are already built and then we have ways to tweak that schedule.
Reserve pilots have much less flexibility. When I was on rsv I typically had 4-5 day reserve blocks of which they kept changing from morning to evening during the block and dropping down to min and making it unable to drop. Some of our pilots have been on rsv for right at a year so keep that in mind.
As a line holder I typically am happy with the flexibility though. Personally I like the ability to tweak my line at different times and even drop a trip when needed with some restrictions. Generally I can get a specific day or two off a month just using FLICA and don’t usually have to work out trades.
I hope this helps inform you a bit your decision is yours to make, BTW the Southwest window is open.
Cheers,
Nacho
