Default Sneak peek at Indigos plans for Wow

How about a Virtual airline? Anything in the TA covering this?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/samuele...U#374923dd1d99

“Following this virtual airline model would allow Indigo and WOW to take advantage of lower cost labor in Hungary and the U.S., compared to import-island Iceland.”

Not only are, our costs lower than our US competitors, were also undercutting the pilots of Iceland.

“By most measures, Wizz Air has one of the lowest unit costs of any airline in Europe, essentially matching that of the world’s largest ultra-low-cost carrier, Ryanair. According to data filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Frontier’s costs are even lower than Wizz’s. Together, a Frontier-Wizz combo could potentially operate a flight for less than WOW, and for significantly less than rival Icelandair.”

Frontier’s costs are even lower than Wizz Airs. YET we have guys scared to continue bargaining for a better deal.

If that's the case, why are you promoting a substandard TA?

And you can stick to your minimum wage internship at your office job.

Incorrect, salary and fuel are the top two costs for every carrier. The data is all available in the SEC filings.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting.

I have thought that Indigo would actually codeshare across the Atlantic, but I always thought they would need A330s to do it. Being able to stop in Iceland fixes that problem. A frontier A321neo lands in Iceland and the passengers hop on a Wizz 321 to anywhere in Europe.

By owning WOW, they can freely do that.

The Frontier/Volaris codeshare is likely just a trial or experiment for a possible trans Atlantic partnership.

Someone who is going to a future Roadshow should ask Bruce York about the scope provisions involved with such a setup

If I was a WOW pilot, I would be very worried by this. I’m pretty weak with my comprehension of some of these deals, but it seems to me that this would only benefit F9, no?

Why would this worry you as a WOW pilot? You are either unemployed or working for Indigo? One is optional.. What is there to worry about?

I really have no idea what kind of “scope” WOW has, so what I’m saying is that maybe Indigo has ulterior motives with this purchase. If they already have the other pieces in this puzzle (Frontier and Wizz), why do they even need Wow- except for the airplanes and facilities/ops in KEF?
