Default Bailout money use

Even if we get bailout money, the government won’t attach the strings necessary to give direct benefit to our pilot group. The 9/11 bailouts only served to make those at the top whole again. If Indigo’s past behavior is any indicator, they would like to see the pain of this recovery in-proportionately distributed onto their employees. Yes, I would like to keep my job but I’m curious what price tag our management wants from us.

The sentiment at my carrier is to furlough before ANY contractual concessions. It will take way longer to claw back pay and work rules than for recalls. Use VLOAs to hopefully mitigate as many layoffs as possible.

The Biff can go ******* a duck if he asks for any concessions. We worked too long and hard to get this contract.

I think they can use a force majeure event clause to reopen section 6 negations, then they’ll threaten Chapter 7 to liquidate (what little assets F9 has) or Chapter 11 to reorganize and throw out our CBA.

Hope I’m wrong, but watch when I’m right.

If so I say we keep line bidding until they want to bring the contract back to what it looks like today. Otherwise we’ll be stuck with our old rates (or worse) and PBS. No thanks.

It's going to be a difficult decision if the choice is concessions or furloughing pilots. I understand not wanting to take a pay cut, but taking a 100% pay cut and being furloughed is scary.

If the government gives us a loan or grant, I don’t think we’ll have much choice whether or not we take concessions... I agree about line bidding... there’s other ways to save money... Freezing rates... reducing premium to 125%... reducing dc to 10%... there are ways we don’t have to take an absolute bath, but then again we do work a corporation that would gladly let us work for free...

If they were to ask for any relief I believe the union should ask for a 6 month snap back and if any pilot is furloughed the agreement is void and contract goes back to current CBA. I’d rather be furloughed than give up all that we fought for they made plenty of money during their time here. They can now use it to float the airline in the mean time.

A lot depends on what others carriers are doing. If others are taking cuts it opens up the ability for the company to go to a judge and force a similar cut. Negotiating pay cuts in public is never a good idea.

When they come for us and ask for 5% (or 40%) I will only give it to them if we get it carved out in stone that we get it back soon as they get it back. Soon as they get money back, bonuses, backdoor constructions to get their money back we get it back or no deal.

over are the times where we have to fight years and years to get our money back while they are giving themselves the biggest bonuses known to men.

I want this company to survive. I will be here till retirement I want this company to make it and do everything in my power to do a professional job while trying to save the company money everywhere I can (se taxi, apu etc etc).

But we are either together going to make it or divided going to fall. I’m planning on plan A
