Correct. Assuming you're in class some time this year, you'll have two weeks to bid on for 2022.

Vacation accrues at 1.25 days a month. (15 days) if you were to jin this year (the earliest possible would be the October class..) you'd have 3 months accrual - 3.75 days to bid on in 2022. Less if you were in the November class etc...
They're pretty good about rounding up to the nearest day; so 4 days as a 10/21 NH.
You will accrue 15 days over 2022, to use in 2023.
This is pretty typical stuff for most companies in the US...

Thanks for the details thanks for the details.

Another question what is the effectiveness of the navblue drop/trade requests? The carrier I work for has an autonomous system that is highly ineffective. Although the features to drop and trade are available they are almost never approved or effective.

I'm hoping the effectivity of your schedule modification platform works as intended.

In other words at my employer, you can make all the vacation and drop requests you desire but they are seldom if ever honored. Generally you are forced to fly your bid award.
Thanks

We use FLICA for post-award schedule modification but the parameters for dropping and swapping with open time are controlled by contract language. Up to 3 days prior to trip departure, whether you can drop or not is controlled by how many trips there are in open time. Proivded the max number of open trips hasn’t been exceeded, you can drop. Within 3 days of trip departure, the system looks at reserve coverage to determine whether you can drop or not. In practice, it’s usually pretty easy to drop weekday flying. Weekend flying is generally harder to drop.

You can also swap reserve days provided it doesn’t create a block fewer than 3 in a row or greater than 6 and it also has to meet reserve coverage minimums. Dropping reserve days is technically possible, but at the discretion of crew scheduling and I’ve never known it to be approved.

Already sounds like it's more effective than our existing system.

So besides the regular pay rate, are there other ways to make money? I know at Spirit, they can drop their entire month and pick up 200% open time. Other than that and the four days off after a trip at Spirit, I think the contracts are pretty close right?

Thanks!

-Any credit over 82 hours is paid at 125%
-Anything picked up from the Premium Folder is paid at 150% (compounded with the 125% if over 82)
-Scheduling can (at their discretion) add Incentive Pay on top of block time to trips in the Premium Folder
-Occasionally FO’s get displaced from their trips for training and then can pick up open time and get paid for both trips
-Picking up open time over your vacation days will also add to your credit

Spirit pilots can drop to zero assuming coverage is available, Frontier pilots can drop to 50 (also assumes coverage) but have to end with 60/70 hours depending on the month. At both airlines the risk of dropping flying is you have to be faster than everybody else to pick up the premium stuff. The paint jobs and the LTD are the biggest differences in the two airlines.
