trust me… hardly anyone is applying… we’re starting to not be able to fill classes… go somewhere where you’re valued… no point in wasting 6 months here (as a side note, I’m not a whiny ***** who brings others down because I have nothing else to do… the airlines are wide open… this is not a place you should be looking at)[/QUOTE]

This is the best advice on here. Go someplace where you are valued as an employee. Even if it's just a little....

You should read what the other forums have to say about being a valued employee. It’s BS argument. Go to the place with the best QOL and pay. Nothing else matters.

That’s the stone cold truth. If an airline could have an autonomous fleet, they would kick the pilots to the curb tomorrow. Crews are a necessary evil, not valued.

As a passenger said, “When things are going smoothly, pilots are the most overpaid people. When there is a problem, they are the most underpaid people.”

Regional to Frontier?

Hi all! I really dislike these forums, but I’m looking to get some feedback on Frontier. I’m a new regional FO with RATP. I spoke to recruiters at Frontier and they are hiring RATP. Sounds like I can easily jump to Frontier right now. Can we be respectful and make a pro/con list of Frontier? I like my regional and will finally get a line next month, but this would be a good step right? Pay increase and fly the A320 over RJs. I’m young and want to get to a Legacy quick. Also QOL matters of course. In the past I heard get 121 time that’s it, but now I’ve heard Legacy’s like pouching from their competition instead of taking from the regionals.

Especially when you don't have any seniority to lose at a regional, there's no question if you should/shouldn't go to an ULCC. And you can get hired here easily if you already have your RATP.

We make more money than legacy pilots according to our CEO. But make sure you tell them in the interview that your end goal is to make it to a legacy. That'll definitely help you get the job.

Your post comes across a good bit offensive just so you know. You might need to work on those soft skills if you want to do well in interviews. Although these days it hardly matters. You asking if Frontier is better than a regional and in the next sentence telling us that you don't actually want to work here? You better approach the interview with a different attitude.

But, I'll still answer your question.

Pros: Fleet, Scheduling flexibility, good pilot group, fast growth, good domiciles

Cons: Bad for commuters, Pay lags begind the industry, less pilot friendly management. No first class meals

He should just stay at his regional since he likes it and doesnt care about F9. He needs to get to a legacy ASAP and tpic is the way to do it. I dont want him here

You're in the wrong thread, this is for RTP (Rotor Transition Program), not RATPs. Also, you may want to be a little more subtle if you're just trying to use Frontier to get to a Legacy. Here's a hint- don't say that in an interview.

Trust me, I get it - but…if you get hired I recommend keeping a bit quiet about your stated ambitions. You will be flying with some guys who have sacrificed a lot and ridden through lots of storms to try and make F9 a career shop. I think they all probably understand what’s going on right now, and won’t really blame you if you use it as a stepping stone, but please keep in mind that most of the captains here did not get hired here planning on this being a stepping-stone airline. Again, just be tactful and open-minded and keep things in perspective. Just because everyone in your circle views Frontier as a farm-team does not mean everyone does.
