Frontier knows they deliver poor service and they have constructed their entire business model around failures that would otherwise harm the legacies. Sales continue, because, “What do you expect for a $20 ticket?” That’s what pax expect and that’s what F9 happily delivers. Kirby isn’t considering this in his comments. As long as F9 doesn’t kill people, there will always be demand for their service.

Southwest, JetBlue and Spirit run a crap operation too. I flew on United during Christmas with the fam, and they canceled two of our flights, the 3rd was 3+ hours late, had broken wifi and the plane hadn't been catered so it had very limited food/ drink. And then we waited 1.5 hours for our bags. Not exactly impressive service for the huge price premium we paid |

Let me tell you about the time my Delta flight waited 40 minutes on the ramp for their gate to open up AT ATL........ yeah. happens everywhere. But when you have more than 200 planes, a ton of gates, employees, etc, you can afford to fix these operational kinks before they get so bad and cause 2-4+ hour delays usually. When a lean operation is ran, things tend to build up real quick.

You make a fair point and I tend to agree that if we had happier employees we would be dominating but that’s tough to quantify and tough to prove. Generally though I look at financial results to determine whether new leadership is needed. Looking forward to Feb 8th. |

It's also possible that the FAA can tell an airline that they can't take delivery of any more aircraft or operate them until the airline gets is stuff together. Thats another possibility. I don't see it with Frontier as the operation has been pretty good as far as completion factor goes. Once you start making national news is when the FAA will take a harder look at the operation.

It is true it happens more here, but it doesn't just not happen at other airlines. Plus, I always get a kick out of Legacy guys when im jumpseating and listening to them complain about their airlines. Theres always stuff to complain about. |

Most companies go into debt to grow. F9 hasn’t really done that yet. There are many other ways in which F9 is inefficient and has capacity for increased revenue that aren’t even being discussed (like carrying cargo). Imagine if F9 decided to give a pay raise to AA 767 wages. It could be done and still turn a profit. Would anybody go to AA anymore? Kirby is a smart man and knows this. He’s counting on others overlooking it. My $0.02, United (and AA) are in trouble and are hemorrhaging market share every day. |
