Default Tradeboard

Just curious why people are now hoarding whatever trips they can get their hands on and immediately putting it on the tradeboard. Why pick it up in the first place if you don’t want it?

Apparently open time bots are out there now. Not only premium.

Take trips, try to pawn em off for better ones or different days. If it doesn't work, you can just drop it as the date approaches.

Not to mention the OT people who will pick up anything and everything because they want their block time to gtfo.

Personally I won’t deal with pilots that pick up something with no intention of flying it. There’s not much the Union can do about it as we don’t want any restrictions on the trade board. Sometimes it’s better to accept some downside then try and create policing provisions imo.

I also won’t deal with them and condone that type of behavior.

Easy fix to the bot situation. Add a "capthca" confirmation prior to final selection of the trip.

But then it will make everyone have a harder time trying to be quick and pick stuff up.

Only real solution is disciplinary action.

It would make the process more tedious, yes however it would level the playing field. If a bot is found to be in use one idea would be to revoke remote FLICA privileges for 12 months. Bot usage would end pretty quickly if a pilot had to go to the airport to make any schedule changes.

you could also make it so that you wouldn’t need to do it every time. I,E. First time yes. Subsequent 2-3 times in next few minutes no.

Yes, but it would be EQUALLY harder. Everyone would have the same additional step (which really isn't much) but would eliminate bots.

Disciplinary action woiuld work but how are the offenders caught?
