PHX Closure
 

FA’s are saying they’ve been told PHX is closing and they are scrambling looking for a base to bid into. Any truth at all in this?

I thought we were doing pretty well there, I’d be surprised if it’s true.

From what the FA’s are telling me they are shrinking it drastically on the FA side and somewhere they were told it’s on the chopping block. I know they’ve been shrinking the number of captains as well.

I'd be surprised. I was told by the base chief and by the director of training they want to considerably grow PHX. Guess we'll see.

You came onto a pilot forum to verify a FA rumor?!!! LOL. I’d play scratch tickets before I would put any bets on a FA rumor becoming reality. One-time, an idiot inflight manager accidentally announces the CHI base closure and now we’re vetting FA rumors from the line? Shame on you.

I’ve flown with two LCA’s since I first heard this rumor and they both said PHX will be closed by the end of 2025. Does that make it true? I don’t know, but more than just FA’s are talking about it.

It make no sense to close PHX. It is one of our mid sized stations between all of our bases.

Probably another baseless rumor (no pun intended)

I have no inside information or anything, but it's awful hard to run a day turn airline without a lot of bases. I automatically assume that no bases will close.

There’s a great deal of maintenance performed in PHX, the flights are full and there is an expanding number of common gates with the Terminal 3 addition. Someone is trying to scare people away from PHX, and suckers are taking the bait. Someone remind me, what’s the last base we closed? Meanwhile MIA and CVG have half the departures of PHX.
