It is becoming increasingly clear that LEC 165 is merely prioritizing personal vendettas over effective representation. Yesterday’s Chairman letter provided irrefutable polling data showing that JH and CW are not advocating for the majority of our 2,300 pilots.
But make no mistake—this goes deeper. LEC 165 is acting as a band of "useful idiots" for MP and LEC 169, who are pulling the strings from behind the scenes. While MP hides behind the guise of "keeping his powder dry," he is the one orchestrating this gridlock. The charade needs to end.
If you are in LEC 165 or 169, it is time to initiate a recall for all of them. Without a total change in leadership, we will remain stuck in the same cycle of division that has plagued this MEC for the last two years.

Two ways to initiate a recall:
Path 1: Resolution at an LEC Meeting
• Any member in good standing can submit a recall resolution as an agenda item
• Must be submitted at least 15 days before the meeting (standard agenda deadline)
• At the meeting, the resolution is debated and voted on by members present (proxies allowed)
• If it passes by simple majority → triggers a council-wide recall ballot through ALPA National
Path 2: Petition (Article XVI, Section 1.B(1))
• Collect pen-and-ink signatures from 30% of the LEC membership
• Submit petition to the LEC Chair and MEC/National
• Forces a special meeting, then the Path 1 process takes over
Ballot & Timeline (if recall motion passes):
• ALPA National issues the recall ballot to all eligible council members — up to 45 days to issue
• Ballot typically stays open ~30 days
• Realistic end-to-end timeline: 2–3 months from motion filing to final result
• Recall passes by simple majority of ballots cast
If the recall succeeds:
• A snap LEC meeting (15-day notice) is called to vote in interim reps (no proxies — in-person votes only)
• Master Chair appoints an interim chairman if all three council officers are recalled; otherwise the surviving officer presides
• A full election ballot then goes out for permanent replacements

That’s awesome. We are going to be starting from zero, or worse, thanks to the unbelievable selfishness of 2 guys. Is there anything ALPA National can do to discipline reps that purposely act against the pilot group’s best interest? Do we as a group have no recourse? Can we sue those two? They are playing with our lives.

165 and 169 are the problem and they are NOT the majority. They may represent the majority, but they are making decisions contrary to what the polling says the real Majority wants. That needs to stop.
