Trans States can even get a "Diamond Award" That's about as impressive as Being picked the best - insert here - airline award all paid for by Brand X airline.

We have great Maint. at F9 but so does every other carrier out there. The FAA are just a bunch of wanna be tools trying to assert there authority.

Airline? AAI's been mentioned. Their cash position, relative to their size, is looking tight. I could see them violating financial covenants and having the same thing happen to them.
Better shorts? LEH, MER, MS. Word is that another IB is getting ready to go Bear Stearns - I've bet against LEH and MER; may add a short position in MS. Problem is, there'll be no JP Morgan to step in and rescue. C and COF are also good shorts. DSL, FED are likely to get shut down this year.

Careful with shorting stocks; there's a lot of money to be made but it's a much higher risk strategy. You need to have nerves of steel; it's not nearly as easy as it sounds. Consider longer term put options.

Forgive my lack of knowledge (I often read, but rarely post), and as such cannot look up your profile. If I remember from your previous posts you work or have worked for Southwest. I question your motives for starting this thread. I would hope it out of concern for my wellbeing as a fellow aviator, and not a lame attempt at misinformation.

[sidebar]I have and will always welcome Southwest jumpseaters on my aircraft. However, if I here one more of you state the merits of the "Southwest Effect" while in my jumpseat, you will listen to a harsh lecture for the remainder of the flight. [end side bar]

I have many friends a Southwest. Let me assure you that I would not start a thread about Southwest just to bring into question the state of Southwest Airlines. I will however close with this; Frontier Airlines just received its 9th straight "Diamond Award" for outstanding maintenance.
Mr. Flex,
Let me assure you that I d NOT work for SWA nor do I care to work there. I agree that some posts on here may at times be carelessly derived or have lack of information, however 99 percent of our national media provides the same to our country.
These posts are the curious in our industry as well as exchange of information or verify of such. I will awill also jump on this bandwagon of information because I also have just heard that Frontier may file.
Is the information valid? Probably not, however in either case that specific tidbit is being thrown around in the industry as I hear it in the jumpseat from another legacy carrier.
As for being lectured on a jumpseat, I assure you or any others that I extend the cuortesy to everyone REGARDLESS of who they work for. I don't speak of relegion or politics or airline contracts. Its a friendly good time while I jump or someone is on my jumpseat. That being sais if someone lectures me as you mentioned, you can expect the same in return.

Looks like some of the rumors had some validity.

NEW YORK, April 11 (Reuters) - Frontier Airlines Holdings (FRNT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) filed for bankruptcy protection on Friday, citing unexpected problems with its credit card processor, but said it would operate its flights normally.

I am an option player thanks! Not really serious about shorting anyone in the biz... just can't do it! Puts in general go against my nature...but this market is begging to be shorted ...maybe if I play a put contract it'll turn! Yea thats the ticket!
